Here is a painting that I started several month ago. And something was missing and not balanced well. At the beginning I was thinking that dark blue background on the left is a good idea and will hold composition, instead it appeared to be boring space. Later I was going to prime it and paint something new over. And suddenly the idea of a flag struck me, first idea was to paint a Texas flag , but big blue field was just a right size to place stars and the light field on the right was for stripes. Now I am thinking it balanced and got some sense.
